5 Day Serengeti Migration Safari Itinerary
Day 0: Arrival in Arusha
Welcome to Tanzania. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you will be met by your professional safari guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you can relax at the lodge, recover from your journey, or explore the city at your own pace.
Your guide will provide a safari briefing and go over the itinerary, ensuring you are fully prepared for the adventure ahead. Enjoy dinner at the lodge and rest before beginning your safari the following morning.

Day 1: Tarangire National Park Game Drive
After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its giant baobab trees, seasonal swamps, and some of the largest elephant herds in East Africa.
Spend the day exploring the park's diverse landscapes while searching for elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas and numerous bird species. During the dry season, wildlife gathers around the Tarangire River, creating outstanding game viewing opportunities.
Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing your afternoon game drive.
In the late afternoon, drive to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater – Central Serengeti
After an early breakfast, travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive.
The crater is one of Africa's finest wildlife destinations and offers excellent opportunities to spot the Big Five, including the endangered black rhino. You may also encounter lions, elephants, hippos, hyenas, jackals, flamingos and numerous antelope species.
After a picnic lunch beside the hippo pool, ascend the crater and continue through the Ngorongoro Highlands into Central Serengeti. Enjoy wildlife sightings along the way before arriving at your tented camp.

Day 3: Central Serengeti to Northern Serengeti Migration Area
Following breakfast, begin your journey toward Northern Serengeti, enjoying an extended game drive through the endless plains of Serengeti National Park.
As you travel north, your guide will track the movements of the Great Wildebeest Migration, stopping whenever wildlife activity is spotted. Along the way, you may encounter large herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, giraffes, lions, cheetahs and leopards.
Arrive in the Kogatende region during the afternoon, where the Mara River crossings take place between July and October. Enjoy an evening game drive before arriving at your luxury tented camp.

Day 4: Full-Day Northern Serengeti Migration Safari
Spend a full day exploring Northern Serengeti, following the migration and searching for the famous Mara River crossings.
Depending on wildlife movements, your guide will position you at the best viewing areas where thousands of wildebeest and zebras gather before attempting to cross the crocodile-filled Mara River. Every crossing is unpredictable, making each safari unique.
Beyond the migration, Northern Serengeti offers exceptional wildlife viewing with resident lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, hyenas, giraffes and a rich variety of birdlife.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before continuing your afternoon game drive.
Return to camp in the evening for dinner and your final night in the Serengeti.

Day 5: Morning Game Drive – Flight to Arusha
